Die Brück´am Tay„Die Brück´am Tay“ ist die Verfilmung der gleichnamigen Ballade von Theodor Fontane. Hintergrundinformationen: 1897 stand in Schottland die damals größte Brücke der Welt, die es dem Zugverkehr ermöglichte, den Tay ohne Umwege zu überqueren. Als Meisterwerk der modernen Baukunst gefeiert, stürzte die Brücke am Weihnachtsabend 1897 bei einem heftigen Sturmin sich zusammen, während sie von einem vollbesetzen Zug überquert wurde. Hunderte Menschen verloren dabei ihr Leben. Um sich keine Mängel in Planung und Verarbeitung zugestehen zu müssen, wurde Fontane mit der Verfassung einer Ballade beauftragt, in der 3 Geister Schuld am Brückenunglück sind. Sie halten die menschliche Baukunst für Tand (Abfall) und beschwören einen orkanartigen Sturm herauf, um die Brücke zu vernichten. „Die Brück am Tay“ entstand aufgrund der Idee, diese mangelhafte Baukunst und die absurde Vorstellung dreier Geister, die die Brücke durch Zauberei zerstören mit Knetfiguren und Kinderspielzeug in Szene zu setzen und trotzdem eine spielfilmartige Dramatik zu erzeugen.
