Developing Pest Lists for Mangoes in ASEAN CountriesThe Northern Territory Government is pleased to present the 2007/2008 BARC Seminar Series. Seminar number 9 is by Dr. Brian Thistleton of our Diagnostic Services Division. Brian's talk is titled "Developing Pest Lists for Mangoes in ASEAN Countries" Brian will discuss: • The departments recent involvement in a project to train ASEAN entomologists and plant pathologists to compile specimen based pest lists for mangoes to meet the requirements for international trade in accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement). • How DPIFM worked as trainers and mentors for the ASEAN participants over a 22-month period. • How this has been an ideal opportunity to become more familiar with SE Asian mango pests, some of which could be of concern to Australia. The seminars will take place in the John England Building Conference Room at Berrimah Farm at 3.15 PM on Thursday 3 July 2008.
